Robert M. Daines

Robert M. Daines is the Pritzker Professor of Law and Business, Associate Dean, and Senior Faculty for the Rock Center on Corporate Governance at Stanford.  He is also Professor of Finance (by courtesy) at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

His research focuses on the intersection between law and finance, including CEO pay, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, mandatory disclosure regulations, IPOs, shareholder voting and takeover defenses. Professor Daines’ work has appeared in such top publications as the Journal of Financial Economics, the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, the Journal of Law, Economics and Organization and The Yale Law Journal.  His research has also been covered by The EconomistThe New York TimesThe Wall Street JournalFinancial TimesForbesFortune and other media.

Before entering academia, he was an investment banker at Goldman Sachs, where he advised firms on bank and bond financings.  He clerked for Judge Ralph K. Winter of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

Tad A. Morley

Tad A. Morley, MHA, FACHE, Regional Network CEO and Executive Director of Network Development and Telehealth has worked for University of Utah Health since March 2013. In his current role, he is the chairman of the University of Utah Regional Network, LLC and oversees the business operations of University of Utah Health’s outreach and regional network development. He and his team work with physicians, hospitals, payers, and employers to deliver coordinated and collaborative health care.

Prior to joining the organization, Tad worked as a CEO and COO at hospitals in Utah, Nevada, Idaho, and Oregon. Tad was also a member of Leavitt Partners, a leading domestic and international health care consulting firm. He provided strategic counsel to hospitals, health systems, and payers and advised private equity health care investors.

Mr. Morley graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Communications and received a Master’s in Healthcare Administration from the University of Minnesota. He is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. He and his wife Annette are the proud parents of four children and five grandchildren.

Debra Whipple, RN, BSN

Debra has worked for 17 years training internationally with LDS Charities in countries of Central and South America, Africa, Asia and the Middle East. She has taught Training-of-Trainers courses on Neonatal Resuscitation and Helping Babies Breathe to healthcare providers in over 16 countries. Her experience internationally includes project development in resource -limited countries, partnering with NGOs and Ministries of Health. She is a retired Newborn Intensive Care Nurse, Special Care Nursery Manager, and Regional Nurse Educator. Debra and her husband are parents of four children and grandparents of seven.

Raymond R. Price, MD, FACSs

Recognized as an international leader and pioneer in expanding the role of surgery in public health, Dr. Price’s work highlights the dramatic impact surgery can have on communities, economies and individuals. Dr. Price is a clinician, researcher, author, and advocate for equality in health care.

Dr. Price served as a member of the Intermountain Trauma Team for 24 years, a member of the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma (co-author of the Rural Trauma Team Development Course 3rd and 4th editions), and has been a leader in improving trauma care regionally, nationally, and internationally.  He served on the Federal International Medical and Surgical Response Team and was the director of the Haiti disaster response medical team for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 2010.

Dr. Price received his BS from the University of Utah, MD from Harvard Medical School, and completed his surgical residency at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

Dr. Price co-founded and serves as the director of the Center for Global Surgery at the University of Utah and directs the graduate surgical education at Intermountain Medical Center, Intermountain Healthcare.

Dr. Price is a Clinical Professor (Department of Surgery) at the University of Utah.  He has participated in or led over 40 medical and surgical expeditions to Asia, Latin America, and Africa.  He has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and books including co-authoring the seminal book “Global Surgery and Public Health: a New Paradigm.” He serves (or has served) in many leadership positions with the WHO Global Initiative for Emergency and Essential Surgical Care, the Society of American and Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), and the American College of Surgeons.

Honors received include: Distinguished University of Utah Alumni Award (2019), Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) Excellence in Humanistic Clinical Care Award (2019), Utah Medical Association (2017) Physician of the Year; Presidential Friendship Medal, Mongolia; American College of Surgeons-Pfizer International Volunteerism Award; a Medal of Honor from the Minister of Health of Mongolia; and multiple teaching awards including the Dr. Clark Lowe Rich Distinguished Surgeon and Mentor Award (2017).

His greatest work, however, is with his wonderful wife Anne and their 7 daughters and one son who also volunteer internationally and at home.

Raymond R. Price, MD, FACSs

Monica is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at New York University Stern School of Business where she teaches undergraduate and MBA level courses in the field of Management & Organizations. Monica also enjoys coaching MBA, undergrad, and high school students on how to pursue their educational and professional dreams. After college, Monica worked as an Equity Research Associate at Morgan Stanley in New York City and a Research Assistant for two professors at Harvard Business School. Monica obtained her PhD in Management with a concentration in Organizational Behavior at The Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor’s degree in Russian from Dartmouth College. She and her husband, Scott, mainly focus on raising their four children, ages 9 to 15. In her spare time, she is an avid skier, tennis player, and aspiring gourmet.
